Firstly, we are delighted to confirm that Vasque are staying with us as title sponsors for 2009. We look forward to working with David Harrison and the gang at Vasque and hope to see their excellent trail shoes more widely available in the UK this year. Ian and the team at Lakes Runner will continue to be our retail partner and we are currently working to finalise the other supporting sponsors. |

Race Dates The 2009 series is now finalised with Pumlumon confirmed as 12th September. The eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed that we published a few sunday dates – these have been changed. Finally, the Lakes 100 actually starts on Friday 31st July - mainly because it takes quite a long time for most people to cover 100 miles!! All dates are now correct on the website and the entry form pages.
We are super excited about the series this year. We listened to your feedback and have changed no fewer than 4 races this year – we hope you will try them out.
Some people are having problems with the HOME page. In explorer the races don’t load up but if you use Firefox they do. We are looking into this.
Highland Fling We had a problem last year in the Devil O’the Highlands filled up its entry slots very soon after we announced it in the series. Also, it required that every runner had a supporter. Well, the Highland Fling is very different. Murdo has confirmed that everyone who enters will be able to run and they already have almost 300 signed up. If you are planning to do this one you should really get an entry in soon though – places are limited for the awesome Ceilidh that follows the race and accommodation in Tyndrum is filling up fast. If promises to be a great event – both competitively and socially so get signed up!! |

Capestorm As you know, Capestorm supported us in 2008 but the product was pretty hard to get hold of. Those of us in the team got to use the kit and were pretty impressed but it simply was not available in the stores. We’re pleased to say that’s changing. It will be appearing in stores soon but right now you can order on-line and, through runfurther.com, get a handy 20% discount!! Simply go to www.capestorm.co.uk and use the code runfurther20. It’s valid through to July 10th |
