The Championships Explained.....The Championship consists of 12 races grouped into three distance classes – short (26-34miles), medium (35-44miles) and long (45 miles and above). There are 4 races in each distance class. Simply by completing races in the series you will get a score in the Championship. To be eligible for prizes and awards you will need to register - see the right hand side of your brouser for registration details. This is free. IMPORTANT: If you have previously registered for the series in another year you will be automatically put onto the 2011 leader board once you have done your first race in 2011. You are already eligeable for web spot ptizes and competitions each month! In 2006 only one of these was awarded for this significant achievement and 2007 saw Si berry try, but injury got the better of his legs, 2008 saw Stuart Walker and Karen McDonald complete all 12 races, in 2009 we had quite a few take on the challenge and 4 completed it - Julie Gardener, Paul Dickens, Tim Whittaker and Nick Ham and in 2010 we had only one again – this time we saw Dick Scroop finally (he nearly did all of them in 2009 too) get round all 12 and he’s a V60 (well done Dick a superb effort for us all to only try and follow) - take the challenge in 2011 and try all 12 races for that "Grand Slam". Prizes for top 3 male and female and all your races count. · Teams – there will be prizes for top 3 teams in male and female categories. You don't have to run together but the top 3 scorers in you team count to the team prizes/score · Individual Races – there will be great prizes for the first 3 men and women home at each race in the series plus further spot prizes at each race. So, you don’t have to be at the leading edge of the race to walk away with some great prizes from our Sponsors. · Spot prizes - throughout the year there will be lots and lots of lucky spot prize winners through this website. To be eligible you simply have to register for the Championships. If you have registered previously then you will be registered automatically for 2011. · About the crew behind Runfurther - we are voluntary and we put thses champs on as we love the sport, if you see us at races struggling to put the flags and banners up in time please help! We may be racing as well!!! The scoring and updates will be done as soon as we can after each race but it is not our main jobs (although the hours sometimes make it feel like a job!) so please be patient - we get there in the end!!!
