Champs News:  New for 2011 - prizes for completing four races in the champs (one from each category and one other to count). Inov8 have teamed up with Runfurther to produce a running cap as a prize. So make sure your address is up to date on the registration pages and get racing those four chosen races......

Race News:  First two races are just round the corner....

Wuthering Hike: This is a little toughy for the start of the year especially if the weather is wintry! So make sure you pack you warm clothing and your hill and rough terrain legs as it is 32 miles traversing gritstone moors around Haworth, Todmorden and Hebden Bridge with 4,400 ft of ascent/descent - click HERE to enter online.... Refreshments en route, hot meal at finish.

Hardmoors 55: A long event at the beginning of the year - fantastic event with great support and also part of the Hardmoors Series and also holds 2 points to UTMB Qualification. The Hardmoors 55 is a 55 mile Ultramarathon running from Helmsley to Guisborough. The 55 mile race will take competitors through the North York Moors and the Cleveland Hills in quite possibly winter conditions. Do not underestimate this race!! There will be options for supported and unsupported runners. The race contains over 8300ft of ascent and has a time limit of 15 hours.

Help the Championships grow: The runfurther team of Si, Karen and Mark are looking for one or two more people to help with the running of the series. This is your chance to put something back into the sport, get to know all the movers and shakers in the Ultra-running world and blag some free stuff!
If you want to help the growing success of the Championships and are prepared to spend a bit of time around races with banner setup, photographs, articles and so on we would like to hear from you.
Don't be shy - just contact us HERE with your details and we will get back to you

Other Races

Well again for 2011 Runfurther have joined forces with the Lightning 12 Hour Run....

The Lightning 12 is an event Karen (web looker afterer!) had a go at last year. Karen is not a flat terrain runner, she likes big long ups and downs for a change of pace, but is always open to a challenge. The challenge was the 12 hour solo - she thought it was going to be flat and not suited to her running but came away from the event on a complete high and absolutely loved the run, the atmosphere and the fact that she came 4th. The Lightning Run can be done as a solo, or in teams of 2 or more, so why not get together with your partner or a bunch of mates and get down to Herefordhire and the grounds of Eastnor Castle. See HERE for details and entry forms or read Karen's report HERE from last years event. And if that gets you going there is always the Thunder Run, a 24 hour version of the same in August!

Pacers Wanted....

"How would you like to be a running ambassador for Clif? Free hotel, travel expenses, some free kit - does that sound good?

Here's what you have to do....you would be running the Brighton marathon as an official pacer, aiming for a time of around 4 hours and leading those who select that time.

You need to be outgoing as your job is to entertain, encourage and cajole a group of runners to complete in around 4 hours. It's a great addition to your running CV and a great way to put something back into the sport - encouraging mostly newcomers to achieve their ambitions and aspirations.

You will get to meet some of the official US Clif pace team plus free kit, travel and accomodation.

Still interested? then check the date - April 10th and get back to us on info@runfurther.com with your contact details. We will put you directly in touch with David Smith at Clif and you can take it from there. If you want to know more about what official pacing involves - check out this article: HERE

Don't delay now!!"
