Run Like a Girl

My last update was so good the blog master lost it!!!

So here goes again – we (me and Alex) made it round the sweltering moors of the Calderdale Hike. It was hot, sticky, long, and almost fun!!!

I had decided that my team mates had probably had enough of my foul mouth, I think I swore all the way round 4 Inns, I swore at myself, team mates, innocent donkeys in fields, friends who turned up to cheer us on, the food and drink I was shoving down my neck (food was lovely it was just something else to swear at!) and none of it helped, so I made a pact with Alex and decided not to swear on Calderdale and it worked! Well until a car tried to drive over us! I’m sure he’d have been done for murder us if he’d managed to hit us – it was very pre-meditated. We were running along a quiet road, next to each other chatting as the road was wide enough for 2 cars. We were on the right side facing the on coming traffic, when we heard a car in the distance behind us. I pulled in behind Alex. But the driver decided to pull over to our side of the road at about 70 miles per hour and skim passed us to scare us, well it worked and we did have to swear loudly and stick some fingers up at the car. The driver responded by sticking his own fingers up so had obviously done it on purpose and then looked in the mirror to see the reaction, what a plop head! As I said at the time he was probably annoyed with all those fit runners out there enjoying themselves while he was so fat he couldn’t even see his own d**k!!! So that was the extent of my anger on that event. The rest of the run was hot and hard work but we got round eventually and even managed a sprint to the line – well we were being watched and photographed!!!

Next up is fellsman in a few weeks and we are all doing it together and we have to beat my time of last year of 21 hours 50 mins - after all this training we'd better beat it or I'll be going back to cycling!!
