This is one of the Runfurther classics, being a loop round the Peak District from Buxton. It’s not as steep as the Long Tour of Bradwell, and the running is faster. There’s quite a bit of stony track running, so fell shoes are probably not a good idea for this one. The climb up Cave Dale out of Castleton seems to go on for ever, and the long road stretch near the end hurts even more as your legs start to give way. The scenery of the gritstone and limestone hills and dales is great to run through.
