Runfurther News - other than the champs

Team Runfurther  - we have had a huge response to the competition to find a new Male and Female to run for Team Runfurther (formerly team Vasque), here's some of the quotes:

"Am described as tough as old boots/nails"

"Because frankly I need the help. I could beg if that'd help?"

"I get faster as the race gets longer"

"My husband already thinks I am mad"

If you are interested please register for the chance to be part of Team Runfurther HERE by 26th April 2010.

We will announce the winner in early May (first week)....

Munro Record Attempt....

At the end of April In 2010 Stephen Pyke (aka Spyke) has set himself the challenge of climbing all of Scotland's 3,000 ft mountains, better known as the Munros, on a continuous round.  There have been a number of continuous rounds of the Munros since Hamish Brown first achieved the feat entirely on foot in the summer of 1974. The fastest round was set by Charlie Campbell in 2000 who climbed all 284 Munros in just 49 days – averaging a marathon a day whilst climbing more than 10,000ft!  Spyke's aim is to complete a round of the Munros under his own steam (on foot, cycling and paddling) and see if he can break Charlie’s incredible record. First up is the classic season opener – Wuthering Hike – a fast 31ish mile tour of Bronte country you can run as solos or pairs and will provide a good indication of how solid that winter training base has been.
