NEW FOR 2011

Inov8 and runfurther have teamed together to provide a special event prize for all runners who complete 4 races in the champs (one from each category and one other).

RACES EXPLAINED...

We have changed the distances this year so some races have moved category (Malborough and Osmotherley) plus we have added two new races (Might Contain Nuts Brecon 40+ and Shires & Spies Northants Ultra) and bought back a favourite for many (Highland Fling). Working with the new races is always good for the champs and we have picked two good events to get you out on some new areas and some old favourites, unfortunately we also have to take out some of our favourite races, we still support these races and encorouge you all to race in them, they will be back in the champs in the future and we will be advertising those races and others on runfurther.com throughout the year.

Changes to the Champs Scoring...

This year (after a few feedback emails) we have changed the scoring for the girls. Both the top Male and top female in each Champs race will recieve 1000 points and then everyone gets their score accordingly. So - in 2011 will we have an overall winner of a Male or a Female?

After each race don't forget to check you are on the leader board and with a score you think is right! To see how we score read HERE (you will get on the leader board once you have run and completed your first champs race of the year - you do not need to re-register for 2011 if you have previously registered so please help us by not doing this - admin is hard enough without having doubles!!!

Runfurther Buff

You can now support runfurther with your very own Runfurther Buff - spread the word about running further and help support the website that brings you the UK Ultra-running Champs - they are also pretty cool we think!!! Click on the picture to go to our online shop - the Buffs are £15 (inc p&p) online or catch us at the races where they are only £12 each, or at the party.

Le Tour de Helvellyn - En Hiver!

Nav4 - The Tour de Helvellyn is a new winter ultra trail running event on Saturday 18th December 2010, the 'shortest' Saturday of the year. The route starts at Askham and runs around Helvellyn, predominately on trails and bridleways, but climbing to height of 750 metres. The total distance is 36miles. There is also the Tour of Kentmere in March.

Joe - the organisor says " Update - It's still too early to make any decisions about Le Tour - in a weeks time it might all be a lot greener! This is Le Tour - en Hiver (in winter!) When we planned the event, making the route 'weatherproof' was one of the key factors, including access to Askham. We do not intend to cancel this event; if we need to making a change it will be to shorten the route, with a turn around at Greenside most likely. Out and back routes do have their advantages!"
