Read Nigel Aston's race report here - sounds like there was a right battle going on for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place for most of the race!
Well the rain held off for most of the daylight hours, which after the week of floods and torrential rains was a complete surprise!
It was actually quite a warm afternoon running through Lyme Park, Furnace Vale, Hayfield area up to Edale cross, down to Edale, over to Castleton, up Cave Dale, along to Peak Forest, down to Millers Dale, up to Chelmorton and down to Earl Sterndal, up again to Knotbury, over to Cumberland Clough, up into Macc Forest and down through Walker Barn to Bollington and along back to the start in Hazel Grove - exhuasting just writing the places let alone running all 56 miles of it!
The organisation of this race was perfect, with drinks and food every few miles with friendly check point staff and lots of people cheering us on.
