Vasque Ultra-running Serries Scores
Another record-breaking year for entry numbers, with 325 entrants. We had 47 non starters, which was probably due to the rain forecast on the day, and 13 retirements. So 265 finishers made their way safely back to the Summer Games, which sadly suffered along with the Phoenix entrants from the heavy downpours. Many thanks to those who entered early – it certainly helps with planning the badges, certificates and food for checkpoints.
Congratulations to all the winners over the three routes, again we had a new record on the 33 mile route, which took some doing given the wet conditions.
For the third year our 33 mile route was sponsored – by Vasque, and they kindly donated many prizes, including a fantastic range of spot prizes, which were picked out using your bucket drop tallies and distributed over all three routes. One chap nearly cried with joy on winning a dry shirt…...
Once again our thanks go to Susan and Paul Adams, all the checkpoint helpers (most of whom have helped all 10 years), Raynet, St John Ambulance and the Summer Games Committee.
Special congratulations, and glass trophies, went to Ann Whilding, David Gibson and Paul Havis, the only 3 people to complete all 10 Phoenix events.

Missing – one pair of shoes (in a green plastic bag) appear to have been picked up in error.
